Every year, in early June, a group of Aggies and Friends step out of their otherwise hectic lives and make a pilgrimage to a predetermined location to...well...bash. This year it was at a rented farm house about 20 minutes south of Brenham, Texas. Brenham is where Blue Bell ice cream is made and the location of their famed contented cows. After spending a few days surrounded by lush pastures, it is not hard to imagine contented cows.
Here are a few photos...
Why, yes...this is Texas!
A nice place for several families to bash for a long weekend.
For me, the bash always includes a bike ride. This year the start/finish was Fayetteville. The advertised Bicycle Classic was the following day.
This year, bash buddy Keith, ripped my legs apart.
The Bash always includes volleyball.
What says summer fun more than lime green toe nails?
It would be nice to have all these fine families living next door to me, but God knows best. I believe He might have put them in different cities so that His light is visible far and wide. I didn't take a picture of the traditional hymn singing on Friday night, but when I look forward to heaven...that is what I think of.
I'm glad my toenails were worthy enough to make an appearance on your blog.
ReplyDeleteWe were all glad that we were worthy enough for you to make an appearance at the bash. Thanks for coming.
ReplyDeleteHow come you didn't take a pic of MY pedicure, a rosy pink? And, after the traditional hymn singing, my favorite part this year was the Grandparents' shower. Who's next?
ReplyDeleteBeth, regarding the pedicure, well...posting a photo of my daughter's toes is weird enough. Two toe photos would have been over the line.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't really gonna mention the grandparent thing. People who read this blog think I'm an active, cyclist kind of guy. Now, thanks to your comment, they know I hang out with grandparents. Oh well...
