Baggage in the Shade

As a country cyclotourist, baggage is handy. The desire for certain contingency supplies, and selected luxuries, trump the need to travel as light as possible. Pleased with the set-up for most excursions, I paused to appreciate.

Oh yeah, it's Memorial Day weekend. That means the heat switch has been toggled to the "on" position, and I have begun to take my breaks in the shade.

  1. Fine setup indeed.

I really wish we had the heat switched to 'on'. It's snowing right now......

Enjoy your breaks in the shade. :)

  2. 95 degrees in north Texas today. I guess someone about mid-way between us is enjoying the weather.

  3. Do you have issues with the bag rubbing your legs? I recently got a Minnehaha saddle bag and find it seems to rub my legs a lot. I haven't been able to use it yet because of this.

  4. I don't really have "issues" with the bag rubbing my legs. Depending on how it is packed, I sometimes can "feel" the bag is there. I haven't really found it bothersome.

Those Minnehaha bags look great, and I hope you can make adjustments so that it can be used. I have seen where some have placed short "spacer" between the bag and the seatpost to help with the leg rubbing issue. If you haven't seen that, let me know and I'll track down photos for you. It was a clever idea.

  5. Thanks for getting back to me. I did try putting something there as a spacer, it didn't seem to work but I had limited time to work with it before a long ride. I'll experiment with it and do some tests on shorter rides before I attempt another long one with the bag.
