More to Give

After returning from yesterday's nearly 4-hour excursion, the bike leaned against the couch. The sun took a late afternoon aim for the southwest treeline, and its rays pierced the window. In the contrasting lighted and shadow areas, and in the tangle of spoke lines, certain bits gleamed, demanding my attention.

When I paused to notice, that bike seemed to say, "I've got more to give. Why did we stop so soon?"

  1. Chris, I enjoy how you put to words (and images) your observations of some of the eloquent and minute details of your day. It's obvious you appreciate much. Looks like you and the QB are hitting it off rather well. Have a great week!

I've been thinking about it, but am having a hard time finding the right words. Let me try this, and it might be the new bike syndrome talking, but...

I think we are a good personality match.

  3. Now that would make an interesting study. Drawing from the personality traits often shared between dog-owners and their dogs (in deference to Mrs. Pondero); could there be a similar analogy pertaining to bicycles? If you had a look in my garage, I'm not sure what kind of conclusion you might arrive at!

  4. I believe the other bikes are becoming jealous of the attention you are giving the QB. I heard them muttering about it in the garage. My advise - don't allow a rebellion to sneak up on you...

  5. You keep your bikes in a GARAGE? No wonder they are muttering.

  6. Steve, yep, the INSIDE of the house is a dog kennel. Somewhere amongst my too many business trips, I lost control. I go out of town for a couple of days, and return to find my bike in a closet, and a new crate/dog combo in the living room.

  7. Just read your last comment, "I go out of town for a couple of days, and return to find my bike in a closet, and a new crate/dog combo in the living room", I'm trying real hard not to this time!
